Bump! I’m still searching for the complete Fresno 1986-12-14 DLR recording!
I have uncirculated masters of recent hard roadshows in the Dallas area to trade if necessary.

I’ve also got the new Guns N’ Roses – 2016 Las Vegas: Double Shot IEM+AUD Matrix from XAVEL Silver Masterpiece Series in FLAC format (from my own silvers) to trade for the complete DLR Fresno ’86 master.

I have recently acquired all of glenn and barry’s original tapes(DLR ’86) and the original cassette decks that recorded them ( 2 sony TCD-5M(s) and The JVC KD-2 that glenn used for all of his recordings including the Okie Jam)..plus in glenn’s collection there is a cassette tape of VH 9-22-78 that is marked as “original” which is flat and unedited..which I didn’t even know existed….I have the Sabbath as well…the other source for that show is the reel to reel that was processed and edited. the RTR has a harsher sound… maybe glenn ended up with the orig cassette ..who knows but …that is a lot of tapes to go thru ..1977-1990.. I had to recondition the decks to get this project to fly..since they have been sitting in storage for many years..

Did they sell them to you or just give you their collections ?

What did you do to the original decks ?

Would love to hear the VH 9-22-78 that is marked as “original” which is flat and unedited.

When you turn on your stereo, does it return the favor?

Sounds very interesting! What’s the project? Are you transferring the tapes to digital and cleaning up the sound?

Glenn has given me his entire collection except for the “lost” items he is still looking for..these guys want their collections preserved…most of Barry’s originals were lost but glenn has a lot of Barry’s stuff that I never got copies of..I really Liked Barry’s Twisted Sister show..from 1985…
the tape decks have multiple issues..with the rubber parts and the bias switches..which requires a delicate teardown to get to the worn out parts..which was quite difficult for me at this point in time..
I am re- capturing the tapes using the original decks direct to a hard drives in various bit rates and sampling frequencies..all of them at 48k-24 bit..some of the really good ones Ive done at 96k-32bit..Using sound forge pro for Mac..still trying to complete the whole collection..Including the films which I have mastered using Apple Pro-Res 422 codecs.with FCP and Adobe Premier Pro.which allows me to master the files with virtually no compression FCP uses the QTM format and APPro supports NIS..that made a big difference..its amazing haw much detail and resolution you lose using compressed formats like BD-R
