Mark:
Games have been cancelled thru 11/30.

Disgusting.. just disgusting. How the hell does Gary Bettman have a job when the league has shut down not 1, not 2, but 3 times on his watch?? Get this fucking clown out of here and get a hockey guy in there.

Vain who do you think would be a good commissioner? I’ve been tellin people for months I think Brendan Shanahan would get my vote.

Shanahan would be a good pick… anyone with years of hockey experience, preferably on the player side, would be a huge improvement. What gets me about Gary is he’s not a hockey guy at all… just seems like a corporate weasel to me. This lockout is extra annoying to me because my Panthers finally turned the corner, won our division and had a decent first round taking NJ to a double OT game 7… this really ruins our momentum.

Vain you guys were really fortunate to get Dale Tallon. He got shafted here in Chicago. A great guy who knows the game and more importantly knows talent and how to work with people. I knew he would get the Panthers on track right away. Actually I think Dale might even make a better commissioner than Shanahan.

Without a doubt we lucked out with Tallon.. I trust that guy all the way. He laid out a 3-year plan and it’s totally working. Last year was an amazing turnaround after TEN years of being terrible. He’s brilliant, IMO.

It was goin good til Bettman and Fehr walked back in the room a few weeks ago. Heard an interesting statistic last week. Since Gary Bettman has been the commissioner 10% of all scheduled games have been canceled due to labor disputes. To me that speaks volumes on how bad he really is.

As a season ticket holder, I’m going to swallow my pride and go to every game that I can. Ultimately I’m only punishing myself by missing games, I’m going to end up watching it on TV anyway, I might as well be at the Tank.

Even though the only thing the Red Wings are probably playing for is a chance at keeping their consecutive playoff appearance streak alive, I’m probably going to watch the games, even though there was a time when I said I wouldn’t.

And just in case anyone is interested in consecutive playoff appearances:

29 Bruins (1967–68 through 1995–96)
28 Black Hawks (1969–70 through 1996–97)
25 Blues(1979–80 through 2003–04)
24 Canadiens (1970–71 through 1993–94)
21 Canadiens (1948–49 through 1968–69)
21 Red Wings (1990–91 to present)

I find they shouldnt even make the stats count in this situatiion but on the other hand a weaker team can surprise us in those amount of games.
