Hey all, got a question about the Monsters of Rock 1988 tour stop in Memphis. The VHE says an audio recording exists of this show. Does it? Does anyone have a copy? Thanks.

I do not have a copy of this show. Would like to get one though. If it could get transfered and traded, I would greatly appreciate it! :)

Tape has been located. I’ll see if I can get this transferred this week.

I’d love to get a chance to have a listen to it too. Weren’t they originally supposed to play two shows at Liberty Bowl on July 8 and 9? The first date apparently got cancelled, does anybody remember the reason for it? Poor ticket sales?

I am very interested in this! I’ve been looking for audio/video of this show over the years, to no avail.

Sammy dedicated the song “Mine All Mine” to my cousin Bruce at this show, who was fighting a losing battle with leukemia. He was supposed to attend the show and meet the band backstage, but was in intensive care and unable to attend. After the show, Sammy and Michael came to the hospital to visit with him. God bless those guys for doing so. The band also signed a shirt for him, which was passed on to me. Bruce was a huge VH fan.

Thank you Ron for posting this thread, mrmojohalen for finding this tape, and Mink for offering me a copy. You guys are awesome, I know the family will be very grateful.

Craig

That is a great story! If someone can share this show, and if the audio is decent, this would make for a great version of the song for the reCOLLECTION compilations. I could even publish your story in the booklet with your permission.
