PT5150 (6290) | Someone had redone LWAN in HD.. EDDIE’S fingers aren’t fingers they are muscle-powered pistons that hammer guitar strings to the fretboard with the force of a rivet gun”. PT5150Quote |

jroundy (1418) | Wouldn’t the source material be the DVD? If so it really isn’t HD. The poor folks play for keeps down here…They’re the living dead. Nobody rules these streets at night like Van Halen!! jroundyQuote |

jroundy (1418) | The cameras they used to record the show were most likely unable to record at an HD level. I don’t believe they used film to record the show, but I could be wrong. So you can’t have HD if the recording devices were incapable of recording at an HD level. Just thinking out loud. The poor folks play for keeps down here…They’re the living dead. I’ve read that LWAN was shot on 16mm film. If so, the original film footage could be scanned in HD or even 4k. But, obviously, you’re not going to get true HD from the existing DVD, it would require scanning the original film and possibly re-editing from scratch in HD. That upscale on Youtube is interesting, but it’s too bad he also converted it to 60 fps. Now it looks like a soap opera shot on cheap video, instead of film. JasonAQuote |
