Absolutely! I think we overestimate the knowledge and devotion of the average VH fan. Outside of fan sites like the Links and Roth Army and here, I’d guess about 3% of the general VH loving public even knows there is a Live CD. Maybe 20% know Wolf is in and Mike is out, and about 40% even know DLR is the singer! I have a friend with a VH tattoo and I promise you he doesn’t know about the CD or a potential tour. But if it happens, he’ll go! They can deny it or whatever, but VH is a nostalgia band that reminds a TON of people about the great party days of the 80′s. The current status isn’t so important to most, they just want to hear Eddie Shredder and sing along to Jump.

Again, I’m guessing, but I think I’m close.

Only the die-hards know about the new live release. Only the die-hards will buy it. But EVERYONE will go to the show when they tour.

Logic says they release the live album and then tour on the live album.

They will of course promote the live album on tour.

I am just asking the question…. if Dave’s ego gets to beat up over the live album…. what happens???

If Dave’s voice is worse now than it was years ago…. I don’t know if I am willing to spend big money on going to a show.

I would be more likely to wait for some bootleg footage to see if it’s worth going.

You think they will tour, and not mention they have a new live album… the first ever with Dave?

Dave is the only one who really knows … but after 40 years in the entertainment industry … I just can’t imagine Dave giving two shits about what others might think.

I remember the press conference for the Australian show, and Billy Joel said if he , he will stop performing, and Dave asked him if he was serious.Dave couldn’t believe Billy Joel said that.

I suspect Dave will get up on the stage and try to sing no matter how bad his voice gets… I don’t know if he could ever say what Billy Joel said.

Kinda like Don Dokken! There are songs he just should stop singing! His voice ain’t what it used to be!
