Prior to the announcement of the Best Of All Worlds tour, I believed my concert attending days were over.
I have grown tired of being fleeced by bands that are decades past their prime. For example: Guns N’ Roses and Journey.
Upon hearing the Best Of All Worlds band announce their tour on the Howard Stern show, I knew that I HAD to get tickets!
Being a massive fan of Van Halen, this was likely my only chance to hear the band’s Hagar era material performed by 2 members of the band, alongside the amazing Joe Satriani and Jason Bonham. Satriani and Bonham were fantastic and paid fitting tribute to the legendary Van Halen brothers. While I understand that the Best Of All Worlds Tour is as much a Van Halen show as Axl’s fake GNR Chinese Democracy band was Guns N’ Roses, this is as close as we will get in 2024. With Edward gone, in addition to both David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen having retired from live performance, it is up to Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony to keep the music of Van Halen alive. If this was the last concert of my lifetime, my taping adventures will have ended on a high note…

I saw a fan in the ADA area below my seat filming the show with a phone on a tripod. If you are out there, let’s work together to create a definitive video document of this amazing concert!

I wanted to mention that when buying tickets, it pays to wait. I bought 2 SEC 204 Row A “Platinum Seats” for $392 total, nine days before the show. Each ticket dropped from $223 to $182 (plus taxes) before I grabbed them.

Always remember, even a subpar fan-produced FREE audience recording makes a MUCH BETTER souvenir than a $50 T-Shirt!!
