I’d say 90% of what is in the article has been posted on other pages and blogs about the Frankie over the years, so us diehards, once again, aren’t going to find too many surprises in this article. However, the coolest thing from this article was the reference to the videos by this guy (see below) on how he’s building the most accurate Frankie possible. He’s up to part 5 right now and there are a bunch of other cool EVH replica related videos as well. Here’s part 1. The others are easy to find if you just browse his video listings.

While I can appreciate the effort put into the story, I was disappointed by the inaccurate date for the Magic Mountain show in 1977. Unless VH played there more than once, the author was off by a couple of weeks. Wouldn’t have impacted how Frankie stood compared to the previously documented sighting, but could have impacted how Frankie was set up when they went into the studio to record the first album. (the author assumed no changes were made because of how close the gig was to the recording date, but since the date used was wrong, more time was available for Edward to make changes before hitting the studio.)
