The guitar in the picture above is actually a 1959 lespaul! that Ed played for a while on tour!

Ed’s ’59 is a sunburst, not a gold top. He has a ’58 burst too. Both are in this picture…

I’ve finished reading the book this receipt is featured in. I’m not a guitar head, so a lot of it wasn’t of much interest to me, but there were several mentions of the Van Halen’s along with Michael Anthony. What I learned that was most surprising to me is how Wayne Charvel doesn’t own the “Charvel” name as it relates to guitars, which seems kind of sad.

My understanding is that the LP that Eddie used in 1973 which was purchased in 1969 was stolen at some point during the club days.

J. Geils has the same problem with the J. Geils Band. They tour without him using the name!
