Ok. I remember some of that. So he and Ed ended on bad terms. I thought internet people on VH message boards were hostile to him or something

So who didn’t receive payment, Andrew or Edward ?

According to Andrew the deal was he was going to record all this documentary stuff from 04 through 08 and receive a form of payment for the project which was supposed to be released or something… in 08 the band just ghosted him and never made contact again and refused to pay him. Andrew said during the 4 year timeframe, he was treated like family and then they just let him go like a hot potato with no explanation…. again… This is what Andrew told me however I have no idea what the other side of the story is I am just going off what Andrew told me. Andrew and I chatted many times over the last 4 years however other than FB I haven’t chatted too much with him recently. I know the Eruption in the Canyon book pissed off the VH camp and we will see what happens with the vault stuff….

According to Andrew in their minds it portrayed Edward in a very dark light and let out a bunch of information that they didnt authorize to come out. The VH camp tried to stop the release of the book a few years back when it came out I remember Andrew telling me.

THE LIMITED 5150 COLLECTION
This is Andrew Bennett, the filmmaker behind my collection of
extremely rare Van Halen materials from 5150 in 2006/2007.
If you have my book, “Eruption In The Canyon”
you have an excellent idea of how amazing this footage is.
I have been speaking about a collection that had been coming out
in an NFT format which I thought was a good idea because it kept
the footage protected and limited.
However, I have been getting a lot of feedback recently from buyers
as well as a great deal of potential buyers, and given that NFT’s are a
new medium, it has been hard for everyone, including myself,
to fully understand this process. I don’t think true Van Halen fans
should have to learn an entirely new technology.
I want everyone to be able to just sit back, rock out, and enjoy the material
without the headache of going through this process that is new to everyone.
So I have decided to simply upload the footage in it’s raw HD form.
The footage will remain limited and will remain secured against sharing.
You will not have access it through that new platform
I will have a private site, password protected with your own password
that only you can access, so you can simply watch it there without
jumping through hoops in a new technology.
The full HD footage will be encoded so it can’t be bootlegged with a phone,
duplicated, or uploaded to places like YouTube,
keeping your collection protected and rare.
I have taken out the complications of an NFT and lowered the prices.
The first release will be delivered in 6/30 with the next four
released on the first of every month.
Package 1: $250
No reserve fees like NFT’s or extra costs.
This is limited to only 200 available, and then it’s gone.

The first release happening now includes:
-A full rehearsal at 5150 in 2006
-A full rehearsal on a second camera of just Alex Van Halen playing an entire
set list
-Five audio files directly from the 5150 rehearsals and the 5150 soundboard.
-A video put together compiling multiple days of the three Van Halens playing
“Hot For Teacher” synced up to the soundboard audio.
-An 11×14 photo print (you can also choose yours from the book)
The next four releases each include
-A full rehearsal, ranging from 2006-2007
-Alex playing the full sets
-3 audio tracks in each release from the 5150 soundboard.
-An 11×14 photo print
In the end, you will have a collection WITH 5 hours of footage,
the video piece of Hot For Teacher, 17 audio tracks, and 5 11×14 prints.

This package includes a lot more footage.

Once this package sells out it will no longer be available

This package is higher priced because there is a lot more included in it,
and it is very limited. You will not have to worry about it selling out,
unlike the previous package, your collections will be reserved for you
so you don’t have to worry about them selling out.

-4 full rehearsals of Alex playing full sets in the drum room

-The only day Eddie played Eruption at 5150
-Three videos I edited together, (Hot For Teacher, On Fire, and Atomic Punk)
all put together using footage from multiple days of rehearsals.
-The video I did in 2004 for “It’s About Time” with Sammy, filmed at 5150
during the recording sessions.
- I will also schedule a time with you to have a call where you can ask me
anything you
want about my time there. (no gossip though, just respect)

This was filmed using a professional camera with high end lenses
with great lighting and sound.

And once it will no longer be available on his site the footage and your money is gone? And if he sells all packages/collections he cashes in what? 150-200k? With all due respect to his work, that’s a complete rip-off.

Absolutely,that’s why i ain’t going near it because Van-halen was always about a real good vibe and when i go outside the music(all the drama and shit) it tends to get me annoyed and i don’t want to feel that way.I mean why not going dvd or blu-ray or even file format where you can download and do whatever the hell you want to do with it.Like you said if something happens like the site crashes and he lose all files,he or anybody who owns a right to watch lose everything.
