5150 released 28 years ago today..

I didn’t care much for WCTBL … but there were so many other great tunes … 5150, Summer Nights, I even liked Dreams … turned out to be a great album.

Geez, that was my senior year in high school… I liked the album right away even though it sounded too “polished” and I was bummed when I couldn’t hit the tour with BTO later that year. I never listen to it now though…

I’d love to see em rip into 5150, Good Enough and Summer Nights again…. damn what I wouldnt give for that

Amen to that, but sadly, I don’t see it ever happening …. that being said, I just want to see a happy healthy Van Halen in any form on tour again.

I smashed this album when it was released, but I haven’t listened to it in years… The simmons drums kill it for me now. They sound terrible. I wish it could be re recorded with acoustic drums.

5150 & OU812 are in serious need of remastering. I guess it will happen one day.

The Sammy era CD’s were remastered a few years ago in Japan. But you still can’t hear the bass on OU812. Someone would have to go through the trouble of remixing it.
