Could this be the rumoured Snade Krellman(s) footage?
VH had hired some Dutch cinematographer to do a documentary on their 1980 World Invasion Tour.
But the footage was too damn wild and crazy and they couldnt release it

In the NYC 78 video at 3:43 Chalkboard with “We came, we saw, we ‘krelled is seen
Krell was a code word for the white powder

Snade Krellman was VH’s first manager Marshal Berle’s alias nickname. The 1978 Japan footage was filmed during his tenure. There was VH Document showing the live concert footage from one of the Japan 78 shows was unusable due to dark lighting issues & didn’t want to pay for it.

I too thought maybe the 1978 footage might have come from him but he was out of the picture after 1978 or 1979.

The supposed 1980 Invasion Tour footage story stemmed from David’s interview in QUI magazine. I think most of what he said was overblown and misleading but also probably referring to the 1978 x- rated footage which was mentioned in Noel Monks book. We know they brought film cameras onstage during that tour but it was just a show biz thing to rev up the crowd.

Marshall managed Van Halen for the entirety of the 1978 tour.

I am unsure how much if any of the footage that has surfaced was actually “filmed” by Marshall.

There was a plan to film a TV special of some sort based on VH’s 1978 tour of Japan for release in 1979.

When he was unceremoniously fired by VH all of that went by the wayside.

but the close ups of the band onstage in Japan were all filmed for the proposed doc. Crystal clear. It’s a shame nothing was ever done with any of it.

Hopefully the fact that the Largo show was pulled might indicate that’s it’s being worked on for an upcoming official release? A guy can hope…
